Morrows has been seeking culturally aligned professional firms with which to merge since early in 2012. Similarities in professionalism, ethics, IT systems and many other factors have been important and we believe we have just such a firm in Silverwoods Accountants and Advisors.
We are, therefore, delighted to jointly advise that the two firms have successfully merged.
Silverwoods Accountants and Advisors was created by Bruce Silverwood and Bruno D’Angelo 13 years ago, and they have been very ably supported by Bianca Barnes for the last seven years. They bring with them a wealth of experience, accounting and tax expertise, and enthusiasm for the merger.
A close association already existed between Silverwoods and Morrows with Bruce and Bruno using Morrows’ services extensively, particularly with setting up Self Managed Superannuation Funds and establishing pensions. In addition, Morrows provided technical support to Silverwoods on complex superannuation matters.
Silverwoods also recognised and appreciated Morrows’ leadership in Wealth Management Services in addition to its Accounting, Legal and Superannuation Consulting services.
As a result of changes to the Financial Services regime, accountants who provide superannuation services will be required to have an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), as from July 2016. Morrows already holds its own AFSL, so it is in a position with its dedicated team to assist the Silverwoods clients.
The decision to merge was a significant one for both Morrows and Silverwoods and we are delighted to say that we share our commitment to providing personalised and high quality service. We are all looking forward to an exciting future and joining forces for the overall benefit of all clients of the expanded group.
