The Order of Australia is a means by which Australia recognises the outstanding service of its people to our country. The Order of Australia was established in 1975 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and is designed to define, encourage and reinforce Australian goals and values.
It is with great pleasure that we congratulate our client:
Ian & Simone Carson – awarded an Order of Australia in recognition for “Significant service to the community through contributions and leadership in the food sector, and to business”
Ian and Simone Carson are Co-Founders of charity, SecondBite. SecondBite provides access to fresh, nutritious food for people in need across Australia.
SecondBite works with over 1,200 community food programs across Australia to redistribute rescued food to those in our community who need it most.
By providing surplus fresh, nutritious food, completely free of charge, they break down barriers to accessing healthy food.
In the 2015-2016 financial year, SecondBite provided the equivalent of 20 million meals to Australians doing it tough. From pantry style services, to community meals, soup kitchens and emergency relief hampers, they typically offer more than just a meal. Connecting people to their communities, linking in services and providing a safe space are just some of the ways that SecondBite help their recipients get back on their feet.
